Assignment 2

Assignment 2: Propaganda Project
Step 1: Propaganda Notes
Click HERE and download the Propaganda Powerpoint.
While watching the powerpoint, type your own notes about the 9 types of Propaganda and email your notes to me.  Your notes should include at least the 9 types and their definitions. (stolley@cuhsd.org, type "Propaganda Notes" in the email subject line, and make sure there is a heading on your page!)

Step 2: Look at Examples
Study these example ads, and online videos, and answer the questions on a separate document.  Type your answers and email them to me. (stolley@cuhsd.org, type "Propaganda Examples" in the email subject line, and make sure there is a heading on your paper.)

Example #1: What type of propaganda is this ad by Starbucks using? Justify your answer with reasons why you think so.

Example #2: What type of propaganda is this ad using? Justify your answer with reasons why you think so.

Example #3: What type of propaganda is used in this Cover Girl ad? Justify your answer with reasons why you think so.

Step 3: Create your Project
Now, choose an item or idea (can be an object, like toothpaste, an idea like recycling, or even a person, like yourself!) and create a propaganda ad to promote that item.  In your ad, you must use at least 2 of the propaganda devices you studied from our notes, above.
It is up to you what medium of propaganda you would like to create – It could be a facebook page, a poster, a wearable pin, a video, or any other appropriate medium (Email me if you want prior approval for your idea).

Step 4: Submit your Project:
Email me a copy of your project (stolley@cuhsd.org) - If it is a digital project, you can send me a link or attach it to your email.  If it is not digital, you can take a picture of it, and email the picture to me.  Then, save the original in your Portfolio.
